I have a question that really bothers me. My husband asked my daughters current coach if next season she could stay with them, and this new coach that is taking over told him that he wasn't sure because he had kids that wanted to move up to his team. Who decides who gets who?

well, first of all players currently on the team have first dibs on that team, if a spot is available other players can move up, but the coach does not pick them. They are draft picks. If a coach wants a new team, that coach will have his child and one buddy and can draft a new team. Your child can not be removed from the team unless she missing a season. Returning players are only from the previous season, a child that played 2 or 3 seasons is not a returning player. I hope this helps some. We will try to post some more helpful information soon.
